Wirral Gymnastic Clubs’ fab four set sights on World Age Group Championships in St Petersburg, Russia

FOLLOWING their recent success at the British Tournament Tumbling Championships, four gymnasts from Wirral Gymnastic Club have set their sights on the World Age Group Championships in St Petersburg, Russia, this November.

Mica Parry, 16, Hannah Saunders, 13, Claudia Bartlett, 10 and Sian Foster, 10, are all members of the Great Britain National Tumbling squads, training regularly at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre.

To qualify for the World Championships, the girls will have to finish in the top eight at the National Championships in March.

If successful, they will be invited to compete in two trials to be held in September, where top two in each age group will be selected.

The girls next competition, an international competition to be held in Ireland in February, will be an ideal warm up event. Their skills can be assessed and measured by the National Coach for future events.
