WIRRAL Hornets gave a good account of themselves against the BBL Premier League side Cheshire Jets.

More than 250 fans packed into Woodchurch High Sports Hall to see a fast-end to end game. Chris Whitehead hitting the first points of the game with a three pointer for Wirral, but the Jets took control of the boards and scored from numerous rebounds.

Platten, Evans and Wilkinson worked hard on the defensive end to restrict Jets on offence.

Hornets face Bradford at Oldershaw High School in the National Cup on September 21, tip-off at 4pm.
