Davis gets hat-trick in New Brighton
A STRONG 90 car entry on the Printmatters Promenade Stages was not the only thing Chris Davis and Brandon Parker had to battle against, as immensely tricky conditions also featured very highly at New Brighton.
Despite the standing water covering the kerb lined stages, they emerged victorious in their Darrian T90 sealing a hat-trick of successive wins at the Wirral event, hosted by Wallasey Motor Club.
Davis headed into a damp final stage without the advantage of four wheel drive, knowing Chris Wise’s Metro did and the slightest of errors would cost dearly.
But Davis stopped the clocks in an impressive 3.55 and waited for Wise to complete the test. He did, but transmission problems dropped Wise a further nine seconds behind leaving Davis who sealed an impressive victory. Wise still held onto second with a Stojanov’s Metro taking third despite a slow start.
