Not-so unlucky for 13 champs qualifiers

THIRTEEN may be an unlucky number for some people, but not Birkenhead Trampoline Club.

After all, that is how many of the club’s performers have reached the National Championships held at the NIA in Birmingham.

Nationals qualifiers were Tom Jones, Emily Steen, Hanna Moses, Matt Battes, Emma Wharton, Charlotte Simms Fiona Sinnott, Alex Sinnott, Ben Jones, Josh Jones, Rebecca Blacklock and Sophie Thompson.

Coach Lynsey Steen said: “Over the season, one of our main goals was to reach the National Championships in Birmingham. This year, we have 13 performers who have reached the championships, which is a great achievement.

“Our performers have won a variety of trophies, team medals and qualifying scores over the season.

“We have performers in all three disciplines of trampolining – double, mini-trampoline and syncro-trampolining.

“We don’t have the best facilities, but we still produce elite performers.”
