MEMBERS of Richard Saunders Schools of Taekwondo are celebrating after successfully passing their black belts in the Korean martial art.
The students took their grading in front of five 7th Degree Taekwondo Master at the Taekwondo Association of Great Britain headquarters in Bristol.
The successful first degree black belts went to 11-year-old Mathew Taylor, 12-year-old Jasmin Haswell, 16-year-old Christopher Jennings, 10-year-old Jack Doherty and 26-year-old Alex Moore.
Wirral Taekwondo Coach Richard Saunders, 5th Dan, said: “All the students did very well and through years of hard work they showed the examiners what they can do.
“In Taekwondo it takes a minimum of three-and-a-half years to obtain a black belt and in that time students develop discipline skills, coordination drills, confidence training and general martial arts skills.
“I am proud of their achievement and it is once again good to have more people from my schools successfully obtained black belt status.”
The club is now working hard towards their next competition - the North Midland Championships in Kettering.
