Friendly changed due to fire

VAUXHALL Motors have been forced to re-arrange one of their planned pre-season games due to fire damage at Bangor City’s Farrar Road.

The Motormen were due to visit the Welshmen on the July 28, but following a fire at their opponents’ ground, which has affected the stand and dressing rooms, the game has had to be cancelled.

Instead, Carl Macauley’s side will travel in the opposite direction that afternoon, to take on old foes Bradford Park Avenue.

Motors have four matches scheduled in the build-up to the exciting looking Blue Square North campaign, which kicks off on Saturday, August 11. The league fixtures are expected to be released in the near future.

Motors may well add a short midweek trip to their pre-season programme, in which they first face Paul Ince’s Macclesfield Town at Rivacre Park on Monday, July 16.

The players report back for training a week on Saturday. This coming Saturday morning, VMFC host their second Car Boot Sale of the summer, following the success of the first event last month. Gates open at 8.30am.
