Trampoline club are a grade above the rest

BIRKENHEAD Trampoline Club Under-17s Girls team took the first four places in the Grade One Double Mini Trampolining (DMT) Selection Competition in London last month – the first of three to select the GB team for the FIG International Age Group Competition, which will be held in Quebec City, Canada, in November.

Hanna Moses, 14, Sarah Littler, 15, Laura Clark, 15, and Emily Steen, 14, won the Under-17s Girls team gold, with Hanna, Sarah and Laura all gaining the qualifying score for selection.

Fellow club members Rebecca Blacklock and Alex Sinnott came third and fifth in the Grade One Under-15s Girls and Grade One Under-17s Boys competitions respectively. In the DMT competition, Hanna was lying second by half a mark after the preliminary round, with Laura in fifth, Sarah sixth and Emily eighth.

But under the rules of trampolining, the scores for the final rounds start back from zero.

After pass three, Hanna was lying second to the favourite Adeva Bryan, from London, followed by Sarah in third, Emily in fifth and Laura in sixth. Consistency paid in the end, as all the Birkenhead team pulled off a strong final pass to gain the top four positions.
