Neston South suffer defeat

NESTON South Wirral suffered their second golden goal defeat in as many weeks when they lost out 3-2 to Andover in the semi-final of the England Hockey Vase.

The Wirral side can be proud of their efforts after dominating the game, but were punished for only converting one of their 20 penalty corners.

Meanwhile, Oxton’s fourth, fifth and sixth teams were in action in re-arranged league games last Saturday.

The fourth team drew 2-2 with Triton II, while the fifth team won 4-1 against already crowned champions Wrexham II.

Oxton’s sixth team won 1-0 against Alderley Edge VI, with Darren Brett ending Alderley’s hopes of surviving relegation.
