A FOOTBALL team from a Wirral paint stockist will be achieving a dream of a lifetime when they play in a five-a-side match at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
Bromborough Paints FC will play just before the kick-off of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final between Doncaster and Bristol Rovers on April 1 2007 after they won a national five-a-side contest
run by the paint company. Bromborough Paints FC battled it out on March 4 to become the northern section finalists after a nail-biting penalty shoot-out win over Everton Glass.
The team will now be playing against the southern section winners, a Johnstone's Paint customer based team, Lyndhurst & Lane Ltd from Barking, at the 74,000 seater stadium. Martin Langan, Bromborough Paints FC team captain, said: It's a lad's dream come true. We will give it our all on April 1. The company has always provided a coach for customers and staff to go to Wembley whenever Tranmere have played there. It’s great that Tranmere are now supporting us in our efforts, and we hope to return to the Wirral, with a trophy.”
