Cammell Laird 3, Bradford Park Avenue 1
IN-FORM Cammell Laird avenged their 3-1 defeat at Bradford Park Avenue’s Horsfall Stadium with a victory by the same scoreline at Kirklands in the Unibond League First Division.
Lairds enjoy the bulk of possession and several chances to take the lead.
But a fine double save by the visiting keeper ensured the teams went in all square at the break.
The second half was more of the same with further chances for Morgan, Cooke and the nippy Eddie Jebb.
The inevitable goal for Lairds came from Morgan, who went past two defenders to strike a shot from 18 yards.
Less than a minute later,
Jebb pounced on a defensive error by Avenue skipper Lee Connor and fed the ball to Chris Adamson, who made no mistake.
The Yorkshiremen were given some hope when Mark Wilson went down in the box, with Neil Ross converting the resulting penalty.
But Lairds wrapped up the game in injury time when Jamie McGuire shot home a penalty following the upending of Chris Nezianya in the Bradford box.
