Neston's final countdown

HOLDERS Neston South Wirral moved into their fifth successive Cheshire Plate final after a 5-3 semi-final win over Bramhall.

It was sweet revenge for Neston following a 6-1 league drubbing earlier in the season.

Bramhall never got to grips with Neston's youthful forward line, as their pace and trickery caused mayhem in their opponents ranks.

Aled Jarvis, Ben Coppack and Carl Smith blasted Neston into a three goal lead before a well-worked penalty corner gave Bramhall some hope.

But Neston's magnificent first half display was rewarded when Coppack again gave them a three goal cushion to leave Bramhall reeling at the break.

They continued to raid forward after the interval, and it was no surprise when Coppack grabbed another goal for his first senior hat-trick.

Bramhall snatched two goals in the last 10 minutes, as Neston took their foot off the gas.

But it was too little too late for the Stockport-based side and Neston now go into the Christmas break on a high, knowing that they must transform their excellent cup form to the league if they are to mount a serious promotion challenge.
