BIRD in Hand got their campaign underway with a 5-0 victory over Admiral in the Birkenhead and Wirral League.

FC Village beat Claughton Hotel 1-0 while newcomers Upton FC gained a point against Trafalgar Rangers in ahard fought 1-1 draw.

Swirling winds made things difficult for both teams with Craig Powell opening the scoring for Trafalgar from the penalty spot.
