RNA reach trophy final

THE Royal Navy Association Bowling Club have reached the finals of the Great Eastern Trophy.

RNA, who are based in Park Road East, Birkenhead, made it through to the final after beating Albany, who are in a higher league.

After being handed a 21 point start, RNA maintained their lead thanks to excellent wins from R Blakeley, P Byrne, D Giblin, G Mason, J Gray and F Twoor.

RNA's team captain, John Gray, said: "Together with the rest of the team, they ensured enough points were taken to see us through to the final by 11 shots."

* RNA now meet Tixalls in the final, which will be held at Cammell Laird on September 16, at 2pm.
