LFC fan signs deal with heroes

LIFE-long Liverpool FC fan Michael Scott has proven that dreams can become reality after signing for Liverpool's under-18s squad.

Michael, 16, from Noctorum, has played football since he was eight and his talent has now earned him a two-year scholarship.

During his time on the under-18s team, Michael must perfect his skills before he has the chance to compete at professional level.

Michael, the second eldest amongst two brothers and three sisters, leaves Ridgeway High School this month after his GCSE exams finish.

Training begins three times a week from June 19 until the new season starts on July 17 when training will become a more gruelling Monday-Friday schedule.

Michael said: "I was shocked when I found out. I'd only been playing for a couple of months to prove myself for the scholarship. I was recommended to the Academy and they had sent a talent scout to see me play eight months ago.

I'm just made up."
