WIRRAL Gymnastics Club are celebrating a double success thanks to two talented gymnasts.
Mica Parry and Andrew Sherman have both achieved British Champions titles in their individual events.
Mica, 14, took the title of under-14s British Champion last month after competing at the British Tumbling Championships in Stoke against finalists from around the UK.
The West Kirby Grammar School pupil also impressed when she recently competed in the Bulgarian Open as a member of the Great Britain Team.
Mica's coach Derek Peberdy, who is also head coach at Wirral Gymnastics Club, said: "Mica increased the difficulty of her routines in the final and nobody was able to match her. It left her opposition only able to admire her skill."
During the same month, Andrew, eight, became the new British National under-9s champion after he performed well at the Men's Artistic Set work Champion-ships in Newcastle.
Andrew, who attends Birkenhead Prep School, made a big impression on the day with high scoring performances on the floor, pommel, rings, high bar, vault and conditioning.
Andrew's coach Sian Hughes said: "An-drew gave the performance of his life and it was a proud moment when he received his gold medal.
"It is a great achievement for both Andrew and Mica. They are a credit to the club and an inspiration to their fellow team mates."
Derek added: "Mica and Andrews successful achievements are due to their hard work and dedication to their sport. "I would also like to thank all of our coaches for sharing their skills and parents for their tireless commitment to the club."
