Birkenhead’s two Seans, Dodd and Lewis, are back in the ring

BIRKENHEAD boxers Sean Dodd and Sean Lewis are stepping back into the ring at the ECHO Arena on Saturday February 23, looking to continue their march up the British ratings and maintain their unbeaten records.

Former amateur champion Dodd is looking for his fifth straight victory since joining the professional ranks last year and makes the step up to six rounds for the first time. 2013 is going to be an important year for “Masher” – he has made the switch from amateur to professional boxing and has learnt a lot from his first four contests but now is the time to push his career forward and start looking for bigger fights and moving towards potential title fights in the next twelve months.

His opponent on the Echo show , which is topped by British Heavyweight Champion David Price, will be Crawley’s tough and determined Ross Payne who will definitely be coming to try and upset Sean’s plans.

Welterweight Lewis is looking for his fourth straight victory as a pro and will be facing one of professional boxing’s most experienced boxers in Birmingham’s Jason Nesbitt in a four round contest.

This is another test for Lewis who looked good in his last contest.

He has shown further improvement in the gym in the build up to this fight and he is looking forward to showing all his fans how much he has improved.

As always tickets have been flying out for the show. Once again an army of fans is making the journey across the Mersey and their support is vital and very much appreciated.

THERE are still some £40 tickets available for the show on a first-come, first-served basis. They are available from the boxers, from Stacey’s Salon on Conway Street or from the Birkenhead Venture gym on Brassey Street.
