Your Champions 2011 - nominate your stars of the community

THE search begins this week for the unsung heroes and heroines of our community in Your Champions 2011.

Wirral News, together with its sister papers Trinity Mirror Cheshire, has once again joined forces with ScottishPower to host Your Champions 2011, an exciting venture which lets us pay tribute to those who make a difference in our area.

This is your chance to help us highlight the good work of an individual, group which has benefited the community – made life just a little better, eased someone’s burden, brightened the environment, or even a single act of courage.

This year there is a new category of Champion Volunteer for the individual who has worked quietly for years to help a charity.

Your Champions was launched in Wirral in 2009 and we want you to tell us who should receive the red-carpet treatment this year.

Our heroes and heroines will be honoured at a presentation ceremony at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Chester on Friday, November 18 where they will also be in the running for a regional champion of champions award.

Once again the Trinity Mirror Cheshire is delighted to be linking up with ScottishPower - both companies are committed to supporting local communities.

Wirral News will select its own category winners, with judges from Scottish Power, and they will then go forward to the regional finals.
