Terrific response to Wirral's Apprentice Challenge

THERE has been a terrific response to Apprentice Challenge ... the unique initiative between Wirral News and Wirral Met to create brand-new jobs for the region.

Wirral Partnership Homes has created SIX new apprenticeships as part of the scheme and as Apprentice Challenge continues, other employers are coming forward to provide new opportunities.

Apprentice Challenge was created under this newspaper’s Wirral Works platform for business and enterprise.

Sue Higginson, Wirral Met’s Assistant Principal said: "Wirral Works has been a really positive way to get both employers and prospective apprentices thinking about opportunities that will make a difference to their organisations and of course, improve Wirral’s economy.

"Our partnership with Wirral Partnership Homes is going from strength to strength."

Brian Simpson CEO of WPH said: "We have been delighted at the response to our Apprentice Challenge.

"So far we have distributed nearly 400 application packs."

The closing date for WPH applications was today, Friday.

However, other employers have also stepped forward to create apprenticeships as part of the scheme.

They include creative media company ICE, law firm ACS, Bromborough, and City Dog Grooming Salon and Boutique in Birkenhead.
