WIRRAL apprentices and employers were amongst those honoured by local training provider Scientiam at its annual awards ceremony.
Coinciding with National Apprenticeship Week, Scientiam's annual awards evening saw apprentices and employers from across the region praised for their work and training over the past 12 months.
The ceremony took place at the Academy ONE headquarters in Liverpool city centre where nine learners received awards whilst four employers were praised for their work in partnering with Scientiam.
From the Wirral, those honoured with the Apprenticeship Award included Cathy Jackson, 35, a painting and decorating apprentice at Wirral Partnership Homes; Joanne Ellis, 20, from Birkenhead, a business administration apprentice with Wirral Council and 20-year-old Aimee Harding from Moreton, a hairdressing apprentice at Faith Hairdressing in Caldy.
Graham Chapman, 19, from Wallasey, was presented with an Employability Skills Award whilst Christine Lesley Hair and Beauty in Oxton received an Employers Award.
Mark Donnelly, Employment Services Manager North West, National Apprenticeship Service, said: "It is always a pleasure to celebrate the achievements of apprentices, and it is clear those receiving awards tonight are very talented and deserve recognition.
"In particular it is great to see key employers working with Scientiam such as Debenhams and Wirral Partnership Homes, committing to apprenticeships and training for their workforce development."
Scientiam is one of the leading training providers to businesses, organisations and people within Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales. Since its establishment in 2001, it has worked with more than 1,000 employers across the North West and has supported more than 3,000 apprentices and learners.
