Claire House Summer Festival mascot 2011

THERE is still time for schools to enter a great competition to name the Claire House Summer Festival mascot.

Planning for the event, on June 25 and 26, is under way but the festival’s mascot still needs a name.

The organisers are asking Wirral school pupils (key stages 1 & 2) to send in their ideas for the blue festival mascot’s name.

The competition is open to all primary school pupils and only one mascot name can be submitted per class using the entry form on the festival website www.clairehousesummerfestival.com/ mascot-competition/

The winning class will receive a prize for their school, festival tickets for each pupil, T-shirts and tickets to an Everton Ladies super league match.

There’s a second part to the competition too. Organisers want to see your drawings of the festival mascot at a Wirral landmark. The closing date has been extended to Friday June 10 – entry details are on the festival website.

For this part of the competition there will be one boys winner and one girls winner.

Each winner will receive a Sony PSP console, a festival T-shirt, festival tickets and a week’s free coaching in a sport of their choice. The top ten designs will be displayed on the www.clairehousesummerfestival.com and showcased at the festival itself for the whole of the Wirral to see.

The Claire House Summer Festival – supported by Wirral News – takes place at Wirral Rugby Club. and is set to keep the whole family entertained with fairground rides, a climbing wall, pony rides, face painting, clairvoyant, farmers market, craft stall, artists, live music and dance.
