MASTERCHEF winner Claire Lara is joining the judging panel in our annual search for Wirral’s top chef.
In the words of host Gregg Wallace, we like to think cooking doesn’t get any tougher than this – so who better to help find our winner than the show’s first female professional champion.
Before Claire steps into the judges’ seat another sizzling six months of culinary competition is in store, with six finalists battling it out for YOUR votes from May to October.
Each will host a Wirral Chef of the Year night at their restaurant.
They must prepare a three- course meal using local/regional and seasonal ingredients.
There’s no chocolate this time around – this year’s twist is that each chef must produce one vegetarian course.
Wirral News readers will be invited to attend and judge the chefs on their starter, main course, dessert, overall presentation, evidence of using local/seasonal ingredients, balance of menu, originality of dishes and quality and originality of the vegetarian course.
Readers will also be asked to give a score for customer service.
Each category will be scored as either poor, satisfactory, good, very good or outstanding.
This year those votes will represent 50% of the final score.
