Oscar nominees shine at Academy Awards luncheon (GALLERY)

THE actual award’s ceremony might be three weeks away, but Oscar nominees got together yesterday to celebrate their nods from the film academy.

The 85th Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon saw most of the 160 nominees out in force.

Bradley Cooper, Ben Affleck and Anne Hathaway rubbed shoulders with other hopefuls at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Ben Affleck’s Argo is now odds on favourite to scoop the Best Picture gong, while Daniel Day Lewis, who did not make it to the event, is hoping to make Academy history by winning his third Best Actor award.

The Oscars, being hosted by Seth McFarlane, take place on February 24.
