A NUISANCE tenant in Wirral has been evicted.
Kevin Lockley, 48, was evicted from his flat on Lyons Road, Moreton for antisocial behaviour.
Hundreds of used needles were found in the property when police officers enterted.
Lockley was a tenant of housing association Wirral Partnership Homes (WPH), and officers gave him numerous warnings.
Birkenhead County Court was told in recent months the number of visitors that were drug users and alcoholics increased, including a heroin dealer who was arrested at the property and received a three year prison sentence.
On another occasion a WPH member of staff was assaulted by a visitor to the property.
WPH obtained an interim injunction on Lockley and a visitor to his flat earlier this year, they subsequently attended Birkenhead County Court in March when a possession order was granted.
The one-bedroom flat will now need thousands of pounds spent on a deep clean to remove the neglect and filth for it to be in a fit state to occupy again.
One neighbour said: “We are so relieved that action has been taken. It has not been a good experience living with this antisocial behaviour.”
WPH tenancy enforcement officer, Dominic Tulley added: “Antisocial behaviour ruins lives and damages communities and can have tragic consequences.
“It is essential those who raise the alarm are listened to and their complaints acted upon promptly.”
