New engine in need of a name
HESWALL’S new fire engine needs a name!
Firefighters at Heswall Community Fire Station are asking children to send their suggestions.
The fire engine will be taken along to the winner’s school for the afternoon, where pupils will be able to look at the equipment and meet firefighters.
Watch manager Mark Pilling said: “Giving children the opportunity to name the fire engine makes it more personal to the area and is also a unique and fun chance for the winner and their schoolfriends to see the new engine up close.”
Suggestions for the fire engine’s name should be sent to Station Officer Basil Steele, Heswall Community Fire Station, Telegraph Road. Heswall, CH60 OAF.
The closing date is March 31.
