Family of Tegan Lees, 3, who lost her cancer fight, will hold yearly fundraiser in her memory

THE mum of a little girl who twice battled a brain tumour before losing her fight against cancer has thanked family and friends for their support.

Tegan Lees, from Tranmere, was just 18 months old when she was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumour.

She had surgery to remove it but it came back and the three-year-old needed another operation.

The tumour was removed in the summer and she had chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment, but in October her condition took a turn for the worse and she died.

Her family called the day of Tegan’s funeral A Celebration of Tegan’s Life which took place at at St Saviour’s Church in Oxton.

Mum Gemma, 20, from Tranmere, and nan Glyn said: “We’d like to thank all family and friends for there support on Tegan’s Celebration of Life. It was a sad day but a very sweet day – so many people came to pay their respects.

“We’ve so far raised over £600 for the oncology at Alder Hey and the family are going to hold a fundraising day every year in Tegan’s name for cancer care to help other children like Tegan. We’d also like to thank all the doctors and nurses for what they did for Tegan and the Wirral News.
