CALDAY Grange students have plenty to keep them busy in their spare time after the school and teachers invested in a West Kirby toy shop.
The Toy Box, located just inside the seaside train station, is now fully run and managed by sixth form students as part of their young enterprise project.
Since November last year, the 18 involved have awarded each other specific job roles, ranging from operations director to human resources manager, and all headed up by a managing director.
And the group is just about to break even on the £700 they have to find each month for rent.
The idea for a toy shop came about after meetings between students and staff looking for a project to fill Wednesday afternoons.
A stationery outlet was mooted, while an ebay shop was another idea before the notion of a toy store was decided upon.
Calday Grange student Ollie Bradley is in charge of public relations. He told the News: “Someone had the idea of a toy shop, and originally it was to stock traditional toys.
“But we soon realised we couldn’t get enough sales from that.”
