Name: Jade FranksAge: 17From: New BrightonFundraising for: The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity
IAM doing a skydive for Clatterbridge Cancer charity on March 30, from the Black Knights Parachute Centre in Cockerham, just outside Lancaster.
My fundraising target is £1,500 and, considering how generous people have been so far, I have no doubts I will reach it.
I am doing this because in 2006, when I was 10 years old, my mum got breast cancer and had to undergo an operation, followed by a course of both radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Very shortly after her treatment her mum, my grandma, was diagnosed with lung cancer. She came to live with my family, where we nursed her at home up until her death in 2009.
Without the work of Clatterbridge, my mum would not be with us today and my grandma would not have lived as long or died as peacefully as she did.
This inspired me to be a volunteer at the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity office, where I come every week on a Wednesday afternoon to help and to have a break from doing my A-levels.
