A WIRRAL charity is sparkling bright for its diamond anniversary.
Clatterbridge Hospitals League of Friends is celebrating 60 years in the community with a special service of thanksgiving this Sunday.
The charity has worked tirelessly to raise funds to improve patient facilities on the Clatterbridge Health Park since 1954.
Donations run in to many tens of thousands of pounds, which is put towards helping NHS services such as a £50,000 state-of-the-art breast ultrasound scanner for the Wirral Breast Centre.
Money was raised to purchase skin treatment equipment for the Dermatology Unit, including a walk-in ultra violet light machine and specialist dermatological armchairs for patients receiving care for skin conditions.
Soft play equipment was given to the child development centre, and uneven floor tiles to help patient rehabilitation at the Wirral Limb Centre.
The service of thanksgiving is at 11am at St George’s Church in Thornton Hough.
