I AM excited to be working closely with local Bromborough recycling company, Recycle for Good Causes, to help raise funds for The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, writes Louise Beach.
It’s really easy to get involved. All we need you wonderful supporters out there to do is pass on your unwanted watches and jewellery – including gold, silver and costume jewellery – as well as any old UK and foreign banknotes, including any currencies from before the existence of the Euro!
Why not do a full spring-clean of your jewellery box or ‘man drawer’ and donate any items you no longer wear or need? Even damaged, broken and incomplete items will help, so all those odd earrings and snapped chains that are lying about are a great start!
All unwanted items will then be turned into a donation for us. To get involved and donate your unwanted items, you can either visit the centre and pop your items into the designated recycling box located outside the charity office.
Alternatively, you can simply post your items to us free of charge, using a regular envelope, to the following address:
The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity
FREEPOST CENTRAL RECYCLING
No postcode or stamp is required.
You might be wondering what the point of recycling is? Well, alongside raising money for your local charity, recycling reduces the demand for raw materials, with less need for mining or quarrying.
Many parts of the world have been blighted by mining and quarrying, which destroy the natural environment and wildlife habitats and can cause environmental and health problems for local people.
Recycling is one way in which our community can reduce the amount of resources used and help protect the environment.
Everything you give to us is turned into cash for The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, so it’s recycled and put to good use!
If you want to become more involved in this project, perhaps you could ask your place of work or school if they could place a recycling box in their reception area?
Recycle for Good Causes will manage the recycling box for you, you don’t need to do anything else other than call 0800 633 5323 to request it.
Another recycling company we are working with is local family run business, Roberts Recycling. So, if you haven’t got any old jewellery or foreign bank notes laying around, you may have some unwanted clothes or shoes at the back of your wardrobe that need throwing out?
Roberts Recycling, has placed two recycling clothing banks for The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity at these locations:
Coach & Horses Inn. Hoylake Road, Moreton, CH46 6AD
Stirrup Pub, Arrowe Park, Arrowe Park Rd, CH49 5PB
If you know of any companies that have the space to house a clothing recycle bank for The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, then please get in contact with me, Louise Beach, on 0151 482 7948, or contact Roberts Recycling Ltd on 0151 353 9349.
Roberts Recycling manages the clothing banks on our behalf, so they will arrange delivery of the bank in a position requested by you. They will regularly maintain the bank site and empty them when they become full. All of the money raised through our recycling initiatives will help to fund vital research, treatment and care.
