THIS week’s entertainment has a rock-induced theme for Wirral’s nightlife.
What better way to start the New Year as you mean to go on by revelling at two of the borough’s popular nightspots, which offer plenty of pleasurable activities.
Dubbed as ‘Wirral’s home to rock ‘n’ roll’, The Swinging Arm pub in Birkenhead certainly lives up to its name with a wealth of rock induced fun and games.
The January sales are not just restricted to the retail outlets, because every Monday to Thursday throughout this month has drinks promotions of £2.29 a pint at the Church Road venue.
The week begins with the chance showing off your vocal talents at jam night every Tuesday.
Then clickety-click it’s bingo time with a rock ‘n’ roll theme on Wednesday nights, plus free pool can be played.
Live music this Friday night kicks off the weekend with Skinny Lizard hitting the mic, plus 12.30am bar.
Saturday night has Quake rockin’ the stage with a 12.30am bar.
Rounding off this weekend’s live acts is Roadhog, who will be performing on Sunday between 4pm and 6pm. Followed by a quiz at 8.30pm.
Revolver returns with a bountiful of booty, and lives up to its motto as ‘The only up-to-date pop, punk, metal, hip hop, and dub’ tunes belted out – experiencing an alternative night on the peninsular.
The Birkenhead nightspot on New Chester Road starts the week with live music from resident band 10ft Head Butt on Thursday night and followed by jam night – with guitar, drums and bass provided plus two mics. Drinks offers include Stella £2 a pint.
Fireball Friday hots up for the weekend with DJ Mogsey pumping out rock tunes in the beer garden pavilion, and DJ Gav belting out rock and metal inside.
Admission is £3.50 through January, with plenty of drinks promotions including Fireball and Jagermeister shots a pound.
Monster Mayhem is every Saturday with an abundance of bar games, giveaways, student discount, stage competitions and shot girls.
Entry is £2.50 with a 3am bar. Drinks offers are £2.50 pints, £2 bottles and £1 shots.
