A GLITZY charity night was put on by one of Wirral’s most recognisable fundraisers.
Self-styled celebrity charity hero Beverly Macca raises money for the Katy Holmes Trust.
This time, the big-hearted lady held her “Prawn Ring N Bling” at Hoylake Social Club and raised £1,300 from the night.
Bev entertained the crowds with her stand up comedy and bingo, followed by an ’80s themed disco.
Bev said: “Many guests came in ‘80s fancy dress. There were even people there who dressed as Bev.
“I was so pleased with the turnout, and it was nice to see so many local people supporting the charity.
“Katy Holmes’s mum, Paula Holmes, travelled from Preston along with other supporters.
“I arrived on my mobility scooter with the crowds laughing.
“The evening ran over time as everyone had a great laugh hearing the Bev Rap. Guests danced the night away to an ’80s disco with Mike Shepherd.
“Big thanks to all the local business’s who donated prizes for the draw. People are already asking when my next fundraiser will be, and I’ve pencilled it for Christmas time.”
Bev – a character played by Del Willden – is dedicated to raising awareness of paediatric brain tumours in memory of 10-year-old Katy Holmes.
Bev will launch the firework display at Sparks In The Park in Meols on Sunday, November 3 at 6pm. Day time fun begins at noon.
