DAREDEVILS braved the heights to abseil down Leasowe Lighthouse.
More than 80 aged between 12 and 83 came together for the vertigo-inducing descent of Wirral’s coastal landmark.
But first they had the stamina-sapping climb of the 130 steps of the spiral staircase to the lamp room.
Most participants had registered in advance, although some spectators were inspired to sign up on the day.
Many were raising money for charity with 13 organisations benefiting.
These included the Terral Morgan Memorial Fund, St Joseph’s Primary School, Montse Benitez Foundation, Mosslands Journey of your mind, Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, and Catch 22.
Friends of Leasowe Lighthouse organised the event with the next abseil to take place on Saturday, April 12.
