THIS week I am very proud of one of our supporters, who also made his Wirral family extremely proud by completing a skydive from 15 thousand feet, writes Louise Beach.
Sam Jones, 23, from Dorset, a resident here himself for a short time, donned a parachute and some goggles on Sunday, September 1 to complete his skydive at Old Sarum Airfield in Salisbury.
On touchdown Sam said the feeling was ‘phenomenal’ and has already booked to dive through the sky for a second time!
The decision to do the dive was prompted after hearing that his Aunty Barbara had been diagnosed with cancer of the bladder, and was having treatment at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.
Barbara stated how proud she was of her nephew, who has fundraised over £600 with more money to come via the Justgiving fundraising website.
If you would like to donate towards Sam’s skydive and help him raise more funds for The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity you can do so by visiting his Justgiving page on www.justgiving.com/SamJones2.
Maybe you are keen to undertake your own challenge to support us?
We have a number of overseas or skydive opportunities available so please contact me, Louise Beach, on 0151 482 7948 or visit www.clatterbridgecc.org.uk and you can find out more.
Next week I am off to North Wales to visit local schools and businesses who support us in Colwyn Bay and Llandudno, so I’ll keep you posted on what they have been doing to support us.
