THE charity Bread of Life has received a £500 donation from Wirral Young Labour.
The money, presented to them by Margaret Greenwood, the Labour Party Parliamentary Candidate for Wirral West, will go towards emergency food for families placed in safe house accommodation.
Local Christian charity Bread of Life Community Project collects food from Sainsbury’s and Hurst’s Bakery on a daily basis and splits it up amongst families who may go hungry without their help.
Margaret said: “'Bread of Life do a fantastic job relieving the hunger of people in need right across Wirral.
“I am delighted to present the donation on behalf of Wirral Young Labour.”
The donation comes after Wirral Young Labour’s successful production of The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists in August.
Bridie Metcalf, Bread of Life’s General Manager, said: “I am very grateful to Margaret Greenwood and Wirral Young Labour for their efforts to support the work of Bread of Life in this way.
“Our team is proud to support vulnerable people across the Wirral. People across the area are suffering at the moment and it is up to us to show them unequalled compassion in their time of need.”
