THIS week we feature pictures taken in the present – at a location which takes us back into the past, namely Hadlow Road station.
Hadlow Road was a station on the single track Hooton to West Kirby branch of the Birkenhead Railway.
The station served the village of Willaston and was on the line which opened in 1866.
It closed to passengers in 1956 and to freight six years later.
Our Flickr members have been out capturing the station in their own style.
Colin Freeman (Flickr I.D. keeweeman) said: "I think the black and white makes this have a sort of authentic feel to it towards the era the station would have been active."
