ENJOY a thirst quenching brew and get down to events taking place across Wirral for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Coffee mornings and fundraising events will be taking place all over Wirral this Friday and the weekend.
It will be all for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of the charity’s annual event – ‘The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ which takes place on Friday, September 27.
A round up of events include:
Friday, September 27, a coffee morning at the Shrewsbury Lodge Hotel, Oxton, from 9.30am to 6pm. The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will be popping in on the day.
Friday, September 27: coffee and cake at Community Caring Ltd, Champions Business Park, Upton. With more than 220 staff getting involved, there will be cakes galore served up from 10am onwards.
Friday, September 27: Pesto at the Dibbinsdale Inn in Bromborough will hold an event from 9am until 11.30am.
Sunday, September 25: family fun day at Parkfield Liscard cricket Club from 12pm to 6pm. There will be lots of fun activities for children and adults, stalls, live music and barbecue. Also a race night is at 8pm.
Saturday, September 29: Wallasey and Moreton Conservatives is hosting a coffee morning at their campaign centre on Seaview Road, Wallasey.
But let’s not forgot to congratulate organisations who have already held their event.
Thanks goes to Holy Cross Church in Woodchurch for raising £690 from their coffee morning last week.
A coffee morning was held at Marlowe Road Church in Wallasey, which raised £728 from homemade cakes, food and drinks, plus raffle prizes.
Laura Steen, her family and Tom Munns helped organise the event for Wendy Steen who has ovarian cancer and is receiving treatment.
The first national World’s Biggest Coffee Morning took place was in 1991, and since then it has raised over £60 million for Macmillan Cancer Support.
This year, the charity aim to raise a record £15 million.
