UNIVERSITY Academy Birkenhead has opened its own animal care centre which includes mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians.
Students studying BTEC level 2 in Animal Care, are looking at animal biology, behaviour and welfare. The qualification will help them pursue a career working with animals.
The Academy has received support from the community and local businesses in providing them with animals and equipment.
Principal Geraint Parry said: “This is a very exciting opportunity for all our students.
“We aim to promote a wide range of studies that will engage and broaden their horizons.”
