CLAIRE House Children’s Hospice has dedicated today to Heswall Golf Club, after members and visitors raised £6,500 to Pay for a Day at their local children’s hospice.
The money was raised through the club’s hugely successful Festival of Golf, which included a sportsman’s dinner, fashion show and a number of competitive golfing events to showcase the club’s stunning location as well as raise vital funds to sustain Claire House for a full 24 hours.
John Sharman, chairman of the council at Heswall Golf Club, said: “Heswall Golf Club would like to thank our Festival of Golf sponsors John Syvret, Cammell Laird, and all who supported the week to make it such a huge success.”
Pay for a Day allows supporters to fundraise over time or donate a lump sum to Claire House. In return, a day is dedicated to them at the hospice marking a special anniversary, birthday or significant date for the supporter.
Stephanie Clark, Wirral area fundraiser for Claire House, said; “The Pay for a Day initiative has really captured our supporters’ imagination and I’m so delighted that Heswall Golf Club has chosen to be a part of it.
“Thank you is often not enough to express how grateful we are for the support of the local community. Pay for a Day allows us to give that extra something back for all the dedication our fundraisers put into keeping the doors of the hospice open.”
