A CHARITY cake bake in Wirral was a sweet success.
A group of residents at Osborne Court in Port Sunlight had a busy time baking cakes to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association’s bake it! campaign.
The Your Housing Group sheltered accommodation raised £97 on the day from a number of activities as well.
Other Your Housing Group developments in Merseyside also took part in cake bakes and raised nearly a thousand pounds between them.
Mike Watson, director of older people’s services at Your Housing Group, said: “Our residents are very active and social and enjoy fundraising for good causes like MND.
“The bake it! campaign was a great opportunity to organise cross-site activities following our recent merger, and encourage everyone to get involved.”
Denise Davies, head of community fundraising at the MND Association, said: “Without the amazing support of organisations like Your Housing Group, the MND Association simply would not be able to provide its vital support services and fund research to find a cure.
Together we are making a real difference for people affected by this devastating disease.”
Proceeds from the events will help support the charity’s services which assist people with MND, a progressive illness that attacks the nerves in the brain and spinal cord, affecting how people walk, talk, eat and breathe.
