A WIRRAL MP met with a group of people working to beat long-term unemployment.
Birkenhead MP Frank Field called in at the Hype Centre at Pyramids Shopping Centre which has teamed up with social housing provider Magenta Living to deliver the Right Track course.
Frank said he was impressed with the work carried out by both organisations for the course.
He said: “It is absolutely terrific, and what I like about the course is that it targets the needs of each individual young person which is really important.
“It is clearly offering a very valuable lifeline to some of these young people and that is to be commended.”
Signed up to the course is Sarah Benyon, 23, a mum-of-one from Wallasey, who has found it difficult to find employment since leaving school. She said: “My dream job would be to become a vet, but at the moment I am focusing on getting a temporary job which would at least mean some valuable experience of working with animals.”
The course has been going for three years, and runs in three eight-week blocks to ensure as many people from across Wirral can sign up.
Hype was set up by Matthew Houghton from Upton.
