HOME Start Wirral's first charity shop was opened in swashbuckling style when the High Sheriff of Merseyside used his ceremonial sword to cut the pink ribbon and declare the store open.
The eye-catching shop in Claughton village will be selling quality clothes, shoes and home wares to raise funds that will help to support local families.
The High Sheriff, Ian Meadows, was impressed with the shop's eye catching design and with Home Start's dedication to helping families strengthen links with the community.
Shop managers Sara Forfar and Tim Salmon have been overwhelmed with offers of help and donations since the Wirral News first reported that Home Start Wirral was planning its first shop.
Sara said: “People have been really generous with their time, donations and supportive comments about the shop. We are so pleased that the High Sheriff has declared us officially open so that we can start raising money.”
The shop is at 24, Upton Road, opposite Birkenhead Sixth Form College, and is open Monday to Saturday.
