Bespoke hat designer teams up with new Oxton Village millinery

WIRRAL fashionistas are in for a treat after a celebrity-inspired millinery opened.

Hat shop Beau will specialise in bespoke headwear and stocking leading designers as Bundle MacLaren and Vivien Sheriff – two of the Duchess of Cambridge’s favourites.

The shop in Oxton Village also has it very own resident bespoke designer – Liverpool’s Rosie Olivia, who will be creating a collection especially for Wirral.

Owner Chris Pound, of Oxton, was inspired to open Beau by her two daughters Sue Finnegan and Patty Thom, who never miss a race meeting at Aintree and love dressing up for a big night out.

The sisters always complained about never being able to find good millinery in the area and so Beau was born.

Chris said: “The girls and I wanted to do something different for the region’s women who are easily the most fashionable in the UK.

“We want Beau to stand out from the crowd so not only are we stocking some of biggest names in millinery, we have also come up with five quirky collections to cater for everyone’s needs and budgets, from the mother of the bride to the statement racegoer.

“Millinery is making a huge statement at this year’s London Fashion Week.”

Beau will also stock hats by Fenwicks of London.

One of Rosie Olivia’s beautiful creations was worn by Princess Beatrice when she went to church on Christmas Day.

Rosie added: “North West girls have been crying out for this type of boutique hat shop.

“I have been waiting for the right shop to come along, so now I can finally showcase and sell my collections in the right environment.”
