THE mum of a teenager killed in a bike crash has won her battle for a memorial to him in their local park.

A hut in Upton Park, Moreton, has become a place for loved ones to pay tribute to Daniel Chong, 16, since his death last summer.

Flowers, messages, photographs, candles and lights have been left at the shelter where the teenager and his friends gathered to play football.

But Daniel’s mum, Lynne, was told by Wirral Council officers that the items had to be removed.

But after an appeal by the family, residents and local councillor Ian Lewis, the council has now relented and said the memorial can stay.

A BIRKENHEAD architect loved her college so much that she came back to design its stunning £3.5m new centrepiece.

The multi-million pound new venture at Birkenhead Sixth Form College marks a triumphant homecoming for former student Rachel Clegg.

The 29-year-old – who sis now a qualified architect with Wirral firm Ainsley Gommon Architects – has helped oversee the design and building work of the new centre.
