Bookings now being taken for corporate hospitality at The Open in Hoylake next year

COMPANIES have started snapping up reservations for The Open when it returns to the Royal Liverpool Golf Club – 18 months ahead of the event.

Bookings for The Open Championship Official Hospitality Programme, July 13-20 next year, at the course in Hoylake have opened online.

According to organisers the Royal & Ancient (R&A) the decision to accept reservations so early “is prompted by customer demand, with North West golf fans eager to secure official hospitality packages”.

The R&A’s director of marketing, Robin Bell, said: “Our official hospitality programme gives our corporate customers the location they want, on course, close to the action, and they have the additional comfort of knowing that their advance purchase is secured by us and tailored to meet the highest standards of customer service.”

The Open Championship was last held at Royal Liverpool in 2006 when Tiger Woods secured his third Open Championship victory in near-record high temperatures for the North West.

An official attendance of 230,000 spectators was recorded making it the second highest total in Open Championship history.

Last year the Women’s Open was also held at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, and although the tournament failed to attract the hoped for 70,000 people the organisers said they would “love” to return.

This year the historic club will co-host the 2013 Boys Amateur Championship with Wallasey Golf Club.

Official Hospitality Programme packages include priority parking, fast track entry, Open Championship TV with rolling leaderboard information, golf simulator access, air-conditioning and private washroom facilities.
