Identity of body washed up on a Wirral beach still remains a mystery

DETECTIVES have not yet been able to identity a body washed up on a Wirral beach last week.

The man, thought to be in his 20s, was found at West Kirby on December 4.

A Home Office post mortem found no apparent injury, but it is believed the man possibly died during the summer months, or earlier.

Police say he may have been in the water for some time.

He was white, around 5ft 10ins tall with short dark coloured hair and of average build, wearing an Armani Jacket, a large Next polo shirt, size 34 Next jeans, a Diesel belt and size 9 white with black stripes Adidas trainers.

He also had a lighter, a Swiss army knife, keys and some money in his pockets.

Det Insp Judith Blease said: "I would appeal to anyone who either recognises his description or who has any information that may assist our investigation to come forward.”

Contact Merseyside Police on 777 2265 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
