A LIVERPOOL personal trainer encouraged her clients to swap boot camp for their walking boots and sign up for the city’s moonlit walk.
Hayley Lundy will warm up the crowds before hundreds pound the pavements at the Mersey Walk of Hope on Friday.
She enlisted the help of 14 pals to support the event which helps The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity and the ECHO’s Liverpool Unites for Alder Hey.
Hayley from Kensington was today preparing to gear up the crowds before the 5K and 10K walks.
She said: “The girls in my sessions always want a good gab and a giggle although they’re normally cut short when I put them through their paces.
“The Mersey Walk of Hope was a perfect opportunity for us all to get together, have a good chat and support two amazing local hospitals.”
Samantha Archibald, events manager at The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, said: “We were delighted when Hayley contacted us about providing our warm up for the walk. And it was a lovely surprise when she said her Heswall boot camp ladies would be joining us in addition to their weekly training session on Thursday.”
The walk will start at 8pm from Liverpool’s Pier Head.
It will be hosted by Leanne Campbell from Juice FM’s breakfast show and will feature live music and entertainment.
People can register from 6.30pm on the night.
Fundraisers can also sign up before the event. Go to www.clatterbridgecc.org.uk or call the Clatterbridge charity team on 0151 482 7948.
