THE former manager of Birkenhead’s TJ Hughes store has got his old job back.
Richard Hodson is set to take charge of the store once again when it reopens later this month.
Richard said he was thrilled to be retaking the reins at the Grange and Pyramids store which will create 60 new jobs when it opens on October 24.
New owner Lewis Home Retail Ltd announced it would reopen the store this month.
Richard, who has worked with TJ Hughes for almost 25 years, said: “I locked it up and I want to be the one who unlocks the door again. I never thought that after one year I would be back and I am very pleased.
“Unfortunately because it was not one of the stores originally purchased after administration I was made redundant.”
After working for two other well-known large retail outfits, Richard received a call from Lewis Home Retail asking if he would come back.
Richard said: “It was a weird feeling – I have been back a week or so but just putting on the suit again to take charge feels right.”
