Dancers needed for record breaking Tapathon in WIrral

WIRRAL Metropolitan College is inviting dancers from all over Merseyside to tap, step and shuffle into the record books.

The college is taking part in the nationwide Tapathon on November 18 – and the aim is to get the greatest number of people performing the same tap routine at the same time all over the country.

The current record stands at 7,596 tappers. Wirral Met’s Twelve Quays campus in Birkenhead will be the venue and organiser Sarah Norris said: “Individuals or dance schools can take part and there’s no age limit.”

The Tapathon will run from noon to 2pm with the first hour as practice. Sarah is also planning workshops to learn the routine.

Registration fee is £10 per dancer, with each participant being supplied with a Tapathon T-shirt.

Email Sarah Norris at sarah.norris@wmc.ac.uk before Friday.
