Friends’ medical boost

VOLUNTEERS at Clatterbridge Hospital have raised thousands of pounds for new medical equipment.

The League of Friends there has given almost £8,000 to its dermatology unit.

The money has paid for two padded and reclining armchairs, making it more comfortable for patients who receive intravenous infusions for their skin conditions.

There was also a donation to a walk-in ultraviolet light machine which helps treat skin conditions.

Ken Arnold, chairman of the Clatterbridge Hospital League of Friends, said: “We are delighted to be able to help with funds for this equipment at the dermatology unit in Clatterbridge Hospital.

“We’re pleased to be able to support the excellent care this fabulous unit provides.”
