Siblings hurt in a crash on Wirral promenade ‘stable’ after undergoing surgery

A SIX-YEAR old boy left fighting for his life after being hit by a car along a Merseyside seafront was said to be in a “stable” condition.

The youngster and his eight-year-old sister were both injured as they crossed the Marine Promenade in New Brighton.

The pair were making their way to a party when they were struck by a 4x4 on Sunday, September 24, at around 2pm.

The six-year-old boy suffered a serious head injury and a serious fracture to his leg and was described as being “critical”.

His sister had a fracture to her left leg and her condition was described as serious but not life-threatening.

Merseyside Police said both children had now had surgery and were both in a “stable” condition.
